Does this cost me anything?
No. The referral is free for homeowners. Basement Waterproofing Burnsville is paid by the contractors it refers, not by you.
Are you the contractor?
No. We're a referral service. An independent local contractor does the inspection, the estimate and the work, and your contract is with them.
How soon will someone call?
Usually the same business day. If water is coming in right now, call us instead of using the form.
How can I check a contractor's license?
Ask for their Minnesota license number and proof of insurance, then look the license up on the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry website.
Will my information go to lots of companies?
No. Each request goes to one contractor who serves your area. Our privacy policy has the details.
Will waterproofing ruin my finished lower level?
Not usually. Interior work needs about a foot of space along the affected walls, so the bottom of the drywall and the carpet edge come up and go back. Ask the contractor exactly what they remove and replace.
Is outside digging ever needed?
Sometimes, mostly for a single problem wall or where the yard slopes hard toward the house. Exterior excavation costs more and disturbs landscaping, so interior drain tile is more common in the Twin Cities.
Do I need a battery backup?
If your pump runs often during storms or melt, yes. The storms that cut power are the same storms that fill your basin.
Why is my discharge line freezing?
Lines that run along the ground or sag can hold water that freezes. A contractor can re-route the line or add a freeze protection fitting.
Can grading alone fix a wet basement?
When water only appears during rain, often yes. When water rises from below in spring, you likely need drain tile and a sump as well.
